Magpies in the Community is the community programme delivered in partnership by the Maidenhead United FC Community Trust and Maidenhead United FC, to provide opportunities for local people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to take part in activities to improve their health and wll being.

Since its establishment in 2015, Magpies in the Community has been delivering a range of activities to benefit the local community including an extensive community coaching programme for children, walking football, pan disability and autism friendly football sessions for both children and adults, seated exercise for older people and adults with learning disabilities, match day experiences and much more.

Since the Coronavirus Pandemic hit Maidenhead United FC and Maidenhead United FC Community Trust have been focusing our efforts towards supporting the local community. Our Magpies Community Care initiative launched in March 2020 enabling us to provide support to the most vulnerable residents during these challenging times through a network of DBS checked volunteers, with support accessed via our hotline which is manned 7 days a week. The hotline will remain open for as long as is needed.

We don’t want to stop there! We know from direct experience that many local charitable and voluntary organisations have been significantly impacted by the current pandemic with reduced fundraising income; increased demand for support and the need to find new ways of working. To help 15 local charities overcome these difficulties, as part of our 150th anniversary celebrations we have decided to launch the Magpies 150 Challenge, through which we are aiming to raise at least £150,000 to support 15 Maidenhead and Windsor based charities that have been impacted by COVID-19.

All the money raised through the Magpies 150 Challenge will be collected by the Maidenhead United FC Community Trust and distributed equally amongst the 15 local charities.  For information on these charities please visit 'Our Charities' section.
